Currency Trader - Rochester, NY

Maverick Currencies, a proprietary trading firm founded in 1997, is looking for entry-friendly Currency Traders who want to build a trading practice around their own schedule rather than someone else's clock. This opportunity is open to Rochester, NY candidates and is fully remote — your location is simply where you log in from, not where you're required to sit.

What the role looks like

This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a salaried or hourly job. You decide when and how much you trade. Many traders find that focusing on the active currency market hours in the morning works well, leaving afternoons free for family, other work, or simply life outside the markets. There is no fixed shift, no mandatory hours, and no one directing your day-to-day trading decisions — you develop your own approach and execute it independently.

Training and support

No prior trading experience is required. Maverick Currencies provides training to help you learn the fundamentals of currency trading, risk management, and the tools you'll use once you're trading a funded account. You'll have access to funded accounts of up to $400,000 as you progress.

Compensation

Compensation is performance-based through a profit split ranging from 65% to 90%. Profits are never guaranteed, and this role carries no income from trading activity if you are not profitable — your earnings reflect your trading results, period. This structure rewards skill and discipline, not hours logged.
